Henry Is a Preschool Graduate!

No more preschool for Henry!  I'm shocked to say I was actually sad as I drove to his cute little preschool, The Treehouse Academy, for the last time.  He's been going there for the last two years.  His first year was just a few mornings a week and the last year has been five mornings a week from 9am-1pm.  I have enjoyed every second of those mornings and so has he.  But what I'm really going to miss is his teacher, Miss Jackie.  I've had a lot of kids attending various preschools through the years and Miss Jackie is the favorite by far.  She is so laid back but teaches the kids so much.  Henry has been able to count to 100 for a long time now and can also count by tens.  I'm teaching him how to read like I have with all my other boys and he has caught on so fast.  Henry is still a little STINKER but Miss Jackie never acted like he got to her and she always seemed excited to see him.  Personally, I think she's good at faking it but she seemed to be sincerely happy to see Henry every morning and that's the most impressive part.
I'm not exactly sure why I'm feeling so sad because I can't wait for Henry to start kindergarten.  Maybe it's because it's the end of a very long era of having a little shadow/sidekick everywhere I go, but mostly I think I'm sad that Henry is done with that phase of life.  Kindergarten means the start of school, bus riding, homework, recess, friends/friend drama, and all the things that come with growing up.  It's going to fly by so fast!
The whole house was converted into a preschool and the play area is partly under the covered garage so the kids played outside almost daily.

Group hug!  Henry wouldn't pose for a picture with Miss Jackie (no surprise there) but she did chase him down for a hug.  She really is the best!

Henry the Soccer Star

Henry started soccer!  He loves it and I feel bad this was the first time he ever kicked a ball in his life.  He's played plenty of lacrosse already but since his brothers are no longer soccer players I have completely neglected Henry.  Oh well.

Henry and his best friend Jack

The great thing about this soccer gig is I paid our neighbor boy $60 for a month of soccer practices and he's just coaching a bunch of Henry's friends.  And did I mention they practice down the street at Big Rock Park?  Yep, it's a sweet, cheap gig that takes no effort on my part.

And while I'm at it, Henry started preschool.  Just like Landon and Parker, I'm holding Henry back so he's the oldest in his grade instead of the youngest.  I desperately wish he could start full-day kindergarten but this decision was based on his future and not my current desire.
Miss Jackie is a great teacher and we loved her last year.  Henry is not an easy kid so I literally asked her if she was willing to have him back and luckily for me, she said yes!

Henry is also obsessed with his Baby Shark hat that Ethan's girlfriend bought him.  It waves when he squeezes the ends of it and it's pretty cute, especially when he puts it on before he's even fully awake in the morning.

Also, I miss Marcus who doesn't get to see this cuteness.  He loves Henry and misses him so much!
