Christmas 2020

Christmas was wonderful. Despite this year being hard and different, Christmas morning was as magical as ever. Christmas Eve was packed full of traditions that make this night one we all look forward to. Randy took all the big boys skiing while Henry “helped” me run more errands and prepare for the festivities. We had a delicious steak dinner (first time), English crackers, and then raced off to go Christmas caroling to our favorite widow, Sheryl Newton. After caroling we returned home for a talent show (less talent and more show) gifts to Jesus, and the annual brothers gift exchange.

Ethan got this shirt from Marcus and he is proud to wear it. I guess it’s from some YouTube channel. Hopefully he doesn’t wear it outside of the house.

Dog piles are the norm here

Christmas morning started at 8:30am. I still can’t believe how late we got to sleep in!  We told the boys no presents until Henry woke up. We forgot to tell Parker that he could NOT go downstairs while we waited so he saw what Sant delivered a couple hours before the rest of us. Such a stinker!

Ethan got AirPods and clothes

Landon got an electric scooter so he can finally join the neighborhood scooter gang during remote learning recess

The mess of Christmas morning never ceases to amaze me!

Henry’s race track was a hit with all the boys

Marcus got a new phone. Much needed and greatly appreciated

Landon and Parker both got lacrosse shirts (PLL) from Marcus. They wear them as often as they can.

Christmas morning with littles is the greatest

And now to finish up this long overdue Christmas post, I have to mention one final thing.  After all the gifts were opened and I was in the kitchen making breakfast, Randy came in saying he was surprised I didn’t get him an Apple Watch. I replied, “I was going to get you one but didn’t think you’d ever wear it so you can get one yourself if you want.”  Then Randy said, “Well who is getting the Apple Watch that’s  in our closet?”  And then there was silence as I realized what had happened. I bought Randy an Apple Watch and totally forgot about it and what’s worse is that I had a perfectly good reason why I didn’t get him one.  So I am certifiably crazy.  In my defense, April ordered the watch for me along with a bunch of other stuff on Black Friday while she was here visiting so it was easy to forget that it ever happened.

Merry Christmas!  I hope your Christmas was memorable and filled with love, good food, and peace.
