Henry went on his first camp out and we don’t have a single picture to prove it! Le weep. But I was more than happy to send off Randy and the boys minus Ethan who was working. I gave Landon (aka motor mouth) specific instructions to make sure Randy stayed awake for the hour long drive to and from Ensign Ranch and even told Landon all the horrors of drivers falling asleep at the wheel. Landon said, “Mom, I got this. I am a motor mouth after all.” Randy is super sleep deprived and often gets drowsy when he sleeps on a normal day so I was worried enough I had two Diet Cokes for him. But they made it to and from just fine and after they got home randy napped for three hours while I took the boys paddle boarding.

Our first family paddle boarding adventure of the summer. All the boys jumped in the freezing water. |

I also worked my tail off while the boys were camping so I could get Landon and Parker’s bedroom painted. I made this decision on a whim as I contemplated all the things I could do with my alone time during the camp out. I knew it would have to be something I couldn’t do with Henry around and knew painting was the way to go.

I forgot to take a “before” picture until I already pulled out all the furniture from the walls and finished the spackle but you get the idea. |

Now it looks so good that I’m kicking myself for waiting six years to do this. Their room was a dark cave, even after electricians installed a ceiling light but not anymore!
I also pulled out the power washer and washed our driveway. It looks amazing, not that you can tell but we sure can. It’s so much lighter it’s blinding in the sunshine. Even my often oblivious boys noticed the difference right away.
