I’m running around like a headless chicken but feeling major guilt for not updating the blog, especially because getting behind means it’s going to take awhile to dig myself out. But good news! I will have lots of time in January for more posts when I’m sitting on the couch for days while my leg heals from surgery. I’ve been diagnosed with melanoma (a spot on my shin) and it’s deep enough that I will have surgery to remove it along with a skin graft. They will also check to see if it has spread to my lymph nodes (30% chance of that). I’ve been a total stress case about this and pretty much planned my funeral for a few days but after meeting with the surgeon I’m feeling more optimistic. It’s curable and if it has spread, then I will be treated with immunotherapy that is very successful with melanoma. So prayers are appreciated!
In the meantime, here are some pictures of our recent quick trip to Utah so we could say goodbye to Dad and Kathy for their 18-month mission to New York.
