Back to School

Randy's dream of being an eternal student is becoming a reality. He started his first day of his 2-year residency program today and after a few introductions they got down to business and began work on a cadaver. I'm not looking forward to more school but at least he's getting paid this time so it's not all bad.
In other news, jet-setter Randy joined us in Utah for a few days. The boys and I took him to a fantastic Japanese restaurant for Father's Day. (I've eaten there 3 times in 2 weeks.) One bite of sushi and rice and I'm instantly taken back to life in tropical paradise. Randy ordered a bento box meal and suddenly Marcus broke out in song, singing in Japanese. Randy and I beamed with pride at our bilingual son. When he finished his serenade I asked him where he learned that awesome bento-box song. He shrugged his shoulders and casually replied, "I learned it at school, Mom. Duh."
I can only hope that Randy will learn songs in his residency program. I don't know about you but a singing dentist is definitely worth a little pain.

  2. Glad everyone could be together! Great job to Marcus for remembering the song AND his Japanese! Would've been nice to have a singing dentist while in Oki - ahem! :)
