Marcus and Ethan had their first day of school yesterday. I remember when
I sent Marcus off to kindergarten for the first time and we were both trying not to cry. Since the boys weren't the "new kid" this year, the first day wasn't a big deal and no one shed a tear. They hardly ate their breakfast they were so excited. Mostly because they finally got to wear their new shoes. After they got home we had our traditional first-day-of-school snack -- chocolate chip cookies and milk while it poured buckets and buckets of rain outside. Poor kids didn't even get to go outside for recess!
They're back at school today, then home for Rosh Hashanah tomorrow, and don't worry, Ethan was late for school. Yes, you heard me. My kid was
late for school on the second day. I am awesome.
Totally. Awesome.

4th Graders are the oldest in the school so Marcus got to ride in the back of the bus |

while I was shoe shopping with Calvin, he told me that last weekend Ethan was constantly trying to "break" his old shoes so he would get to wear his new shoes (stomping in the ocean, etc.). Love it.
