Promotion Ceremonies

I think promotion ceremonies are lame but without them I probably wouldn’t have recognized we’ve got big changes in our family this fall. I’ve been so focused on having two boys starting college (my mind is still blown) that I did not even take into consideration that there other big changes for my other boys.

Landon will be starting high school. I’m excited for him but also dreading the loss of my sweet boy as he becomes a grumpy teenager.  But maybe he doesn’t have to be grumpy? I’m not counting on it though. It’s hard not to be when school is a drag and you’re sleep deprived.

Landon made the honor roll! I thought every kid did this because I was always on it, but so far Landon is paving new trails in our family by being the first to do this. FYI, Marcus got a 4.0 with no effort when he lived in Utah for a semester. School is just harder here!

Parker is so excited to be done with elementary school and we have loved our middle school, so I’m full of optimism for this boy. Henry is going to miss him the most, especially when Parker moves out of their bedroom and into his own room after the college boys leave.
Henry didn’t have a promotion ceremony from kindergarten, thankfully! But he did get a bunch of birthday stuff on the second to last day of school and he was so proud of it! He begged me to let him wear it to Ethan’s graduation but I think he left it in the car. Henry LOVED kindergarten and is ahead of his grade level in both math and reading. Go Henry!
