Some big changes happening around here that are worth mentioning. For the past couple weekends, the older boys have been out with friends or working in Marcus’s case, so it’s just been Randy and me with the younger boys. It’s kind of awesome! They want to be with us, are happy to do whatever, and it reminds me of the good old days when I just had three little boys under foot.
A couple weeks ago even Landon was out with his friends on a Friday night so I told Parker we would take him and Henry out to dinner and he could pick where we ate. All he wanted was spaghetti because he’s the pickiest eater known to man, plus he has an expander in so eating any food is difficult. We had to try three different restaurants before we found one that was open (two were closed because staff had Corona). We sat at a small table, just the four of us, and colored with the crayons on the kids menu while we waited for food. It was like I’d jumped back in time ten years. Parker and Henry hardly knew what to do with all the attention they got!
So I’m pretty happy about this new phase we are in that is a lot like the old phase. It’s where I’m most comfortable I think. Teenagers are great and make life so exciting but now I’m getting best of both worlds so although Henry is going to be hanging around with us on the weekends for years to come, I’m ok with the big age spread we’ve got going on.
