Halloween was awesome! It was actually better because of COVID so that’s a miracle. Here’s why: So many people weren’t going to trick or treat around here, including some of my neighbors, that they organized a little candy hunt in everyone’s backyards. We met at our house, the kids found their treat bags, then we moved on to the next neighbor’s yard until we were all done. The best part was doing it in the afternoon. Seriously people, we have got to get the word out. Trick or treating is soooo much better in the daylight!! We could actually see all the kids in their cute costumes and no one was tripping in the dark and dumping their candy everywhere. It was the best!
We sat around my neighbor’s fire pit while the kids exchanged candy and then we went to a different neighborhood for a potluck dinner and real-deal trick or treating. The kids got a ton of candy because there weren’t as many kids out. A lot of people just set their candy out in big bowls on tables so my boys didn’t even have to waste their time going all the way up to the door. It was glorious! Oh, and it didn’t rain either! It was a good day. Those are few and far between in 2020 so I want to remember this Halloween for years to come.
I never got a picture of just my kids this year. Big fail. But since the teenagers didn’t dress up and Landon wore his lax uniform (again), and Parker and Henry both dressed as Spider-Man because I literally have FOUR Spider-Man costumes, there wasn’t too much to get excited about. But trick or treating in the daylight...now that’s something to be happy about!
