Spring is in the air which means Marcus went to Junior Prom so that’s exciting. Except that it wasn’t that exciting for me watching from afar. Good thing he’s a boy.
His prom prep involved taking a shower and putting on the right tie. Oh, and he had to pick up the corsage that I ordered for him.

This prom was memorable for a couple reasons. Marcus’s BFF in WA (Matt) flew down for the weekend and took Megan to prom. Marcus and Megan do pretty much everything together so why not prom too? April and Toby hosted Matt for the weekend while April celebrated her 40th birthday and got three kids ready for prom. They are the prom champions!
Marcus said his favorite part of the whole thing was driving Bish’s Mercedes. (Grandpa Bish is Megan’s grandpa and he’s adopted Marcus into his family and lovingly calls him Bronco because he couldn’t remember his name. Marcus loves it!) Anyway, Marcus loved driving to the restaurant and pulling up at the same time as all his friends in their “sick” cars. He said it felt like a scene out a Fast and Furious movie.

I saw Barb’s beautiful tree and had to take a picture. Seattle in spring is just stunning! |

Saw this on my run and had to stop and take a picture. I still can’t believe I live in such a beautiful place even after all these years. |

We’ve got another lawn mower in the family! I had to snap a quick picture before he put the lawn mower away. Landon is not happy about this new life skill. |
Just because it’s spring doesn’t mean you can’t go back to school. Ethan had his first day at school yesterday after 402 days of remote learning. Only half the school can go back to maintain 6feet social distance despite the new 3 foot guidelines from the CDC. So Ethan only goes on Monday and Tuesday and does remote the rest of the week. He said the day went alright.
Lunch is weird. The kids had to select their seat where they will sit the rest of the year. Luckily Ethan knew a few people so they could sit by each other but they’re so spread out they can’t talk much anyway. In contrast Marcus is doing all things normal while he wears a mask. It’s hard not be completely frustrated instead of grateful at this weird return to school.
To finish up this spring post I have to share this picture of Pine Lake randy and I went paddle boarding with our friends for a quick date night. But we got there and the beach was closed can you believe it?!? But not from Covid but because of some blue algae thing so we paddle boarded anyway but the water was murky and smelled terrible! But it was so nice to be outside and on the lake
