The Enchantments in the Fall

Randy hiked the Enchantments, a twenty-mile hike in the Cascade mountains the past two weekends.  First, he went with a bunch of guys.  Hiking in the fall is a great time to go so you can see the golden larch trees that only grow in a few places in the PNW.  They were not overrated.  The next weekend he went with Ethan and a few of the boys Ethan's age.  This hike is long and difficult and I bet there are very few people who have done it two consecutive Saturdays in a row besides Randy.  Ethan is glad to check it off his bucket list.  The pictures are so beautiful I'm almost tempted to go again.  But I won't.

Asguard Pass, two miles of climbing straight up.

Behold!  The Golden Larch!

The Dads

More beauty

Ethan!

These boys and Randy waited 90 minutes at the end of the hike for the rest of the adults to catch up.
